A man sets himself on fire outside Trump’s trial

A man has died after setting himself on fire in front of the Manhattan courthouse where the trial against former President Donald Trump is taking place.
Maxwell Azzarello, 37, doused conspiracy agenda papers in a liquid before throwing them into the air. It came as jury selection was completed for Mr. Trump’s trial.
New York City police said early Saturday that Mr. Azzarello had been pronounced dead by hospital staff, NBC reported.
They have identified him as 37-year-old Maxwell Azzarello, who arrived in New York from his home in Florida last week. He had no criminal record in New York and his family in Florida had no idea he had moved to the city.
New York Police Chief Jeffrey Madry said Mr. Azzarello was seen “shifting around” in the park before reaching into a bag for flammable liquids and papers. Chief Madry said the papers were a “propaganda base” and related to a “conspiracy theory”.
There was a heavy police presence outside the courthouse in the wake of the trial, and NYPD investigators were later seen collecting scattered papers before Mr. Asarello set himself on fire. Three NYPD officers and one judicial officer suffered minor injuries after helping put out the fire.
