A Ryanair flight faced a severe incident shortly after takeoff from Thessaloniki, Greece, when a passenger window dislodged, nearly causing a Serbian man in his 60s to be sucked out of the aircraft.

Witnesses reported that he was left hanging out the window for several minutes until other passengers managed to pull him back inside.

Ryanair confirmed the event, stating the Boeing 737 returned to the airport for a safe landing, and one passenger required medical assistance upon arrival.

Passengers recounted a loud bang followed by window breakage and the deployment of oxygen masks.

They suspected the window may have been shattered by debris from the engine, though Ryanair has not verified this.

Christina, a passenger, shared her panic, thinking the emergency door had been opened, but credited the man’s seatbelt with saving his life.

The aircraft, operated by Malta Air, had been in service for 18 years. The Irish Aviation Authority is aware of the incident and will assist in the investigations.

This incident recalls a similar tragedy in 2018 when a passenger died due to a broken window caused by engine debris on a Southwest Airlines flight.
