John Wick game starring Keanu Reeves unveiled at PlayStation showcase

The upcoming video game adaptation of the John Wick film series, tentatively titled “Untitled John Wick Game”, is being developed by Saber Interactive, known for Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2.

The game will feature the likeness and voice of Keanu Reeves, who plays the titular character. A trailer for the game, set to serve as a prequel to the films, was unveiled during PlayStation’s “State of Play” showcase.

Saber Interactive will collaborate closely with Chad Stahelski, the film franchise’s director, to create an original storyline aimed at mature audiences, incorporating both familiar and new characters.

The John Wick franchise has grossed over $1 billion globally, centering on a retired assassin’s quest for vengeance.

This gaming project marks the first time Reeves voices the character, following his portrayal of Johnny Silverhand in Cyberpunk 2077.

Amidst this announcement, some fans raised concerns about the implications for Saber’s remake of the classic Star Wars game, Knights of the Old Republic.

Notably, Christopher Dring highlighted the synergy between the game’s genre, intellectual property, and the developer’s capabilities.

The PlayStation event also showcased several other remakes, including a reimagined God of War trilogy and a new Silent Hill installment, alongside the announcement of a 30th anniversary edition of Rayman featuring accessibility enhancements and a documentary on its creation.
