India’s AI Impact Summit, opened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi, faced significant logistical issues on its first day, leading to long queues, overcrowding, and confusion among participants.

Complaints included insufficient access to food and water, theft from exhibitor stalls, and delays in session confirmations.

Despite being promoted as a groundbreaking international AI meeting, the event’s management was criticized, with attendees asserting that basic operational flaws overshadowed the substance of discussions.

Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw acknowledged these shortcomings and announced the establishment of a “war-room” to address concerns.

The summit, featuring leaders from over 100 countries, aims to explore AI’s benefits and potential impacts on society.
